S2S Nation Artist Profile Marlon Bartolo: Why Splatter Tiger?

Splatter Tiger- Conserve White Tigers;  Against Tiger Poaching

white tiger

The dramatic features and characteristic of the white tiger capture my attention. White tigers differ from the standard orange and black tigers in appearance only; as they are albino tigers and carry the recessive trait for albinism. They are characterized by having a creamy white coat with random black/brown stripes, bright blue eyes, and a pink nose.  White tigers are extremely beautiful animals but apparently are struggling for survival. In nature, white tigers have difficulty camouflaging themselves in their natural habitat.

Despite the fact that white tigers are endangered, some are still captive and kept in zoos. Owners of these endangered white tigers say that these animals make very popular exhibits and help increasing the zoos revenues as well as attendance, allowing people to see these beautiful creatures and raising awareness regarding the tiger’s struggle for survival.

Splatter Tiger

With this design, Marlon used the white tiger adding a touch of abstract by using splatter. Because he wanted people to be aware that another species is in need of conservation and in need of saving. Marlon states “Let us save these animals and others, big or small, for our children and for the children of our children. So they can see how beautiful the creation of our Almighty God. Every creation of our God has a purpose in this world”.

A Glimpse at the Artist – Marlon Bartolo

Marlon Bartolo is a born artist. Inspired by his father who is a bag maker (designs bags); he then took up fine arts in University of the East at Caloocan City Philippines. “When I took up fine arts, never did I believe that I would become a graphic artist, design t-shirts or use a computer to design or to create art. When I graduated and searched for a job, most of the employers were looking for an artist who can use computers to create a design. Let’s face it, nowadays; if you don’t know how to use a computer, it is very difficult to gain employment. Encouraged by my better half, I took a short computer course to learn the software that I can use to combine my artistic skills with computers. She always pushes me to try new things, teaches me not to be afraid and to take every challenge in life as a key to success, she’s right! Currently we are running a small shop where I can also share and display my artistic skill. We do personalized digital works like enhance/digital photo printing, tarpaulin printing / layout, invitation, PVC I.D. / bag tag, key chains, coffee mug printing, sticker print, and t-shirt printing. You can check some of our personalized designs at  http://lhoonymaose.deviantart.com/ or visit my FB account.

In five years of being a graphic artist, this is the first time that I joined on an on-line contest, never believing that I could go this far. I never believed that I won this contest; my co-graphic artist just called me and then told me “Bro, congrats, you won!” I thought it was a joke and when I got home and checked, WOW! I was the winner. It is truly a big privilege to be a winner of this kind of contest. I am very thankful to those who support my design and I hope for your continuous support. The splatter tiger design is currently in pre-production and will be ready next week. You can pre-order this design by emailing us at info@s2snation.com.

Why Bamboo Organic Cotton?

The Search for the Most Comfortable, yet Eco-Friendly Tee

What Makes S2SNation Tees Different?

Bamboo Organic Cotton

First of all our shirts are made from 70% viscous from organic bamboo and 30% organic cotton. Bamboo grows rapidly and naturally without any pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers; all you need is rain. Bamboo plants absorb about 5 times the amount of CO2 and produce about 35% more oxygen than an equivalent stand of trees. Growing bamboo improves soil quality and helps rebuild eroded soil. The extensive root system of bamboo holds soil together, prevents soil erosion, and retains water in the watershed. Bamboo clothing (both mechanically and chemically manufactured) is 100% biodegradable and can be completely decomposed in the soil by micro-organisms and sunlight without decomposing into any pollutants such as methane gas which is commonly produced as a by-product of decomposition in landfills aS2SNation t-shirtnd dumps.

Organic cotton is the other component of our shirts. While conventional cotton uses 25% of the world’s insecticides, 10% of the world’s pesticides and 3000 cubic meters of water per acre to grow; they even use pesticides when the cotton is still just a little seed. On the other hand, organic cotton is generally rain fed. This is possible because organic cotton crops are rotated, allowing the soil to maintain its nutrients and hold water better than regular cotton crops. Another benefit is that instead of bombarding the ground with huge amounts of chemicals, weeds are picked by hand on organic cotton farms; just like you did when you were a kid and your mom needed help in the garden. Not only does this keep the plants and animals alive and healthy, it keeps a lot of farmers employed.

Secondly, S2S Nation is trying to build a socially responsible company that puts a high importance on providing an enjoyable cool place for our employees to work. Therefore we want to work with other companies that share these same values. This is why the company that provides our shirts uses factories that are third party audited using the BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) Monitoring system, which is based on the labor standards of the International Labor Organization (ILO). Check out more info regarding the BSCI at www.bsci-eu.org.

Third, S2SNation has 100% customer satisfaction rate. We are receiving positive customer voices from all over the world, across various social media. We value each of our customers and strive to provide the best products and services.

"We are proud to provide the 60 days money back guarantee because we are confident customers will fall in love with the Tees at the first touch." says Julia, Marketing coordinator from S2SNation.

"This T-Shirt is so soft and comfortable. Ordered a woman's size S and it seems perfect. Not a form fitted shirt but just right and very comfortable to wear. The design is really nice. Colors are beautiful. The T-Shirt arrived very quickly and the company has a very friendly customer service department. Very happy!!"
- Dee Norris, one of happy customers of S2SNation
